This macro can be used as a placeholder for the description-text of a file (if available). ... Link (0 comments) ... Comment

Basically this macro displays the name of a file which was defined when uploading it. The only additional option accepted by this macro is as="link", which will render the name as link to the file: <% file.alias as="link" %> ... Link (0 comments) ... Comment

Embedding uploaded files is done with the file-macro, which can look like this: <% file name="myFirstFile" %> Unlike the image handling of antville the way a file is displayed is determined by a skin (a file's "main" skin per default) that you can modify as you wish (just because you can add a "description" text to your files which can be displayed if you want to). There is one special thing: antville counts the number of requests for a file. In default configuration antville displays the click-counter just in the list of the file-pool, but you can embed this counter also in the "main" skin (so that all visitors of your weblog can see how "popular" a file is). As with images antville also let's you embed a file that was uploaded in another weblog. To do so, simply use the alias of the other weblog followed by a slash before the name of the file, i.e.: <% file name="project/ifeelgood" %> Please mind that the display of a foreign file is determined by the "main" skin of the other weblog, not the one that you defined for your weblog. ...
